At veteducation.com.au, our mission is to provide you with practical, relevant distance learning of the highest standards. The directors of veteducation.com.au, Philip and Charisma Judge, are dedicated to providing you with continuing education opportunities that present the most up-to-date knowledge, delivered to you by experienced veterinarians, who have a passion for teaching. Our tutors are veterinarians with extensive post graduate training, qualifications and experience in the fields of small animal medicine, surgery, and veterinary emergency and critical care.
Our course co-coordinator, and veteducation.com.au co-founder Dr Philip Judge BVSc MVS MACVSc (Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, Medicine of Dogs) is an experienced clinician, with over 17 years experience in small animal practice - 10 of which have been in Melbourne's busy emergency and referral centres. Philip is extremely enthusiastic about veteducation.com.au. "Education is critical to ensuring the provision of high quality veterinary and nursing care to our patients - we are passionate about helping provide some of the best education opportunities available. Our courses have been developed to provide all veterinary staff with up-to-date, well researched information, in a user-friendly format - with plenty of support!"
Dr Charisma Judge BVScAH MVS GDip (Mgmt) is the driving force behind the veteducation.com.au business development and marketing. "We wanted to provide veterinary nurses in Australia and New Zealand with a real complementary alternative to mainstream learning - learning that could be done at home, with 24-hour online access to tutors, and real assessment - at an affordable price. Our exciting veterinary courses, which are under development for 2009 will bring this learning alternative to veterinarians as well!"
Veteducation.com.au has a range of exciting learning opportunities for your practice, brought to you by a team of well-qualified, enthusiastic veterinarians who love teaching!
A veteducation.com.au course is different.
To begin with, you will receive extensive, carefully prepared bound notes that will provide you with a reference well beyond the duration of the course.
Secondly, there is a message board, accessed with your username and password, for use during the course. The message board is a place where you can post questions about course material, cases you have seen, and questions about assignments. Our tutors will post replies generally within 24 hours. Message boards are great places to learn, view other participants' questions, and the answers provided by our tutors, and to interact with other people doing the course.
Thirdly, there is the weekly LIVE discussion forum, where we will present case material, and a 'topic of the week' relating to the weeks course material.
Fourthly, each course participant will be required to submit assignments relating to case management in their own clinic - this reinforces the course material learning, and gives the course material new relevance in your own working environment.
Finally, there will be an on-line test at the end of each course - on successful completion of the test; you will be issued with a formal certificate of course completion. These courses are being developed as part of a formal AQTF qualification - part of the process we are undertaking to become a Registered Training Organization - meaning that these certificates of completion will carry extra weight in your CV once we become registered!
