In this very first lecture of the equine series, Dr Rachel Tan will take us on a practice journey, providing clinicians with a practical approach to interpreting common fluid samples collected in the horse: haematology, biochemistry, urine and abdominal fluid. Joint and cerebrospinal fluid will also be briefly discussed. This will be culminated by a discussion on the calculation, composition and administration of intravenous and oral fluid therapy applicable to general and field practice.
